Thanks for everyone's comments! ceejanerun, this was the only shot I was able to take; I was worried I would not get anything but a blur a black and green with the little G9, so I set the camera up for a single shot. Also, I had to get back to work, so more shots of the willing dog were not possible.
YAHOOO!!! for dogs that love to swim there's nothing quite like their wild abandon when allowed to jump in. when i was a teen in south miami we used to swim in one of the army corps of engineer's flood control canals and dive off of the bridge which was about 22 feet above the water. one of the guys we'd regularly see there would bring his boxer which LOVED to jump off that bridge. he had to carefully restrict it or it'd do it til it was so tired it'd drown. the dog would often wait crouched just beggin to be allowed to jump...his owner liked to wait until a car was at the right spot and then enjoy the startled look on the occupants faces when the boxer sprang over the rail off the bridge. thanks for the memories. great timeing to capture this fine fun shot
